The Battle For The Pulpit 3/13/09

NCDAS strongly supports the belief our country is based on Judeo Christian values; that the United States was established not just as a republic but as a religious republic. Our fore fathers understood the reality that without a strong religious foundation in which our rights are God-given, the problematic goal of freedom could not be attained no less maintained.

So what exactly did our fore fathers consider to be a proper expression of freedom?  Were there limits or boundaries?  And if so what were they?

As exemplified in much of today’s outlandish behavior, freedom can be somewhat of an ambiguous concept.  Our culture often misinterprets the concept of freedom with that of a free-for-all permitting all types of conduct.

Freedom comes in many forms and all forms, if left unbridled, will lead to anarchy and ultimately towards tyranny. As a society we must maintain a balance between the pursuit of happiness and that of complete decadence.  Unfortunately, we as a country either willingly or perhaps unwittingly are traversing down the path of decadence.  If you question this assertion just take a moment to consider that which our country condones and repeatedly celebrates as acceptable behavior.

We often hear Hollywood is a reflection of society.  Personally I strongly oppose this opinion but for the moment let’s assume it to be an accurate observation.  Next time you are in a food store, check out the tabloids and weekly magazines.  The images and stories of tinsel town consistently glorify socially destructive behavior.  Out of wedlock births, homosexual conduct, drug abuse and infidelity are portrayed as the acceptable norm of American society.  If it feels good do it.  Now consider the fact many of these publications are targeted at our children, the most impressionable of our society.  Our children are indoctrinated with perversion 24 X 7 all while Christian values and morals are censored in the classroom and prohibited in the public
square.

Some would argue the filth permeating our society is simply the exercise of free speech.  Notice the liberal’s consistent and pervasive use of the word “free” in this argument.  It is as if freedom guarantees the right for an individual or group of individuals to destroy fundamental morals, the very fabric of a healthy society.  Now consider my earlier statement, “Freedom comes in many forms and all if left unbridled, will lead to anarchy and ultimately tyranny”.  I submit to you, as a country we are rapidly approaching anarchy.  My description of anarchy is when we experience mobs roaming our streets burning and pillaging private property, as we witnessed in the Rodney King (can’t we all just get
along)  riots in California.  Are you thinking it can’t happen again?
It will when welfare checks are slashed due to local government deficits.  California is already delaying tax refunds.  Wonder why they chose that route as apposed to reducing welfare payments?  Once again the productive in our society is penalized.

You may question how we as a country have fallen for such debauchery.
My friends the answer is obvious.  We have allowed our country to drift away from what has been the bed rock of our freedoms.  The answer is we have allowed our leaders to dismiss and banish religious principles from our country. We have been silent, and in our silence we have inadvertently endorsed the erosion of these Godless principles.  Indeed our silence has taken us down the path of censorship; to a dark void where the mere utterance of ones Christian beliefs from a presidential candidate is considered off limits and offensive to the media elite.

Our forefathers based the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution on the concept that our rights are GOD given and not something that man bestows upon us.  This forethought was designed to deter government from over stepping its fundamental obligations to its citizens.  As John Adams wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”.  In essence Adams was saying a society without religion will lack sufficient morality to maintain a free government.  That freedom with the absence of religion will never coexist as morality can not be taught.  I believe morality can not be an educational objective as man must rely upon a
religious foundation to maintain purity.   That a society without purity
of mind will inevitably decay, tyranny will fill the void and ultimately allow a dictatorship to ascend.  To argue this point is to deny the fundamental nature of mankind.  We are in fact fallible; history has taught us this time and time again.  The evidence of an educated society’s demise is awash with Godless tyrants and dictators intoxicated by the seduction of total power.  I ask you, are our current leaders immune to the seduction of power?  I think not.  Without GOD as our foundation, we as a society will inevitably slip into the trap of indecency and pay the ultimate price, the loss of our personal freedoms, democracy and liberty.

President Obama is a socialist; his actions since entering the White House validate this assertion.  Socialism is by its very nature a Godless secular economic and social form of government.  God professed his desire for all men to strive for happiness and prosperity.  When government destroys its citizen’s ability to excel by punishing motivation and excellence I consider it an affront to God’s plan.

If permitted, Obama will in short order bring to pass our forefather’s greatest concern; that we as a people would one day acquiesce to a secular authority and lose our GOD given rights.  The very rights we as Americans are beholden to preserve and defend, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

GOD Bless America!
